A BMW supercar once owned by Michael Jordan and packed with ’90s-era luxury has gone up for sale at a “tantalizingly affordable” price.
The basketball legend bought the swish motor back in 1991 from a dealer in Illinois, where he famously played for the Chicago Bulls, and it has only clocked up 30,000 miles since then.

The current owner picked it up in 1995 and has used it incredibly sparingly, while the service history shows a clean bill of health.
It comes with a host of extra features, including an electric sunroof, dual-zone climate control and cruise control, which were the height of luxury in the early ’90s.
All the documentation is present and correct, bearing the great man’s signature as confirmation of authenticity.
The car, a 1991 850i model, is finished in Mauritius Blue Metallic paintwork and the listing states that the front bumpers and bonnet have been touched up.
It even has a custom number plate reading M AIR J, a reference to Air Jordans, the sporting icon’s line of basketball shoes produced in conjunction with Nike.
The interior is trimmed in Light Parchment cream leather with matching carpets.
Extras include a stereo and cassette player, CD changer and adjustable steering column.
However, the ad does warn that the air conditioning does not blow cold.
And under the hood, the 5-litre V12 was loaded up with 296 horsepower when new, though the model was electronically limited to 156mph.
Social media users went wild for the dark blue sedan.
One dubbed it the “last great BMW” while another cited the £20,215 current bid as “tantalizingly cheap” for a car with such history.
A third praised Jordan for his “amazing car taste”, in the wake of a Mercedes he also owned in the ’90s being sold just months ago.
The auction is set to end on January 8.
It comes after shocking pictures showed a car stripped to pieces by “cannibals”, as the thief responsible was caught following an embarrassing blunder.
