LeBron James draws up plays for son Bryce’s team in elite high school basketball tourney

Perhaps it was a peek into the future for LeBron James.

The NBA superstar put down the powdered chalk and threw on a polo shirt as he helped coach up his son, Bryce James, during Nike’s Peach Jam in North Augusta, South Carolina.

Bryce James is playing for Strive for Greatness in the tournament, and the James duo had two-time NBA Champion Rajon Rondo there to help coach as well.

The Peach Jam is one of the premier high school hoops tournaments in the country, and Chris Paul, Bradley Beal and Carmelo Anthony also have teams in the event.

Plenty of videos made their way to social media of James coaching the team and Rondo giving instructions to a player off to the side.

James was in the huddle by the bench drawing up a play and giving directions to players on where they need to be.

Another focused on Rondo off to the side giving directions to another player.

A video also shows James walking into the gym and high-fiving a number of people along the wall.

Strive for Greatness has gone 1-1 in the tournament thus far.

They took the opening game on Monday, beating the Expressions, 78-69, and then lost the second game to the Florida Rebels, 72-67, on Wednesday.

In the first game, Bryce James notched 12 points, hitting two from beyond the 3-point arc.

They will play again on Thursday when they face Mokan Elite.

James, who will be entering his 21st NBA season, is coming off a year that the Lakers struggled and injuries held him 55 games.

He averaged 28.9 points a game last season.

As for Bryce, he’s entering his junior season at Campbell Hall after transferring from Sierra Canyon High School, ESPN reported.
