NBA champion from the Lakers, Dion Waiters, now owns a Florida mansion valued at $18 million after being a free agent for over 3 years

Guard Dion Waiters, a former NBA player, is the seller. The Cleveland Cavaliers selected Waiters with the fourth overall choice in the 2012 NBA Draft.

The NBA’s most prolific shooter, who never met a shot he didn’t want to attempt, played for eight seasons and had a reputation as a player who could score points in large quantities. He also acquired the moniker “Waiters Island” from NBA analysts who liked his bravado and believed in his skills.

Waiters has been out of the league since the Los Angeles Lakers and him shared a championship in 2020. This time, Waiters is moving outside of South Florida.

He frequently travels back to his hometown of Philadelphia because he likes it, according to listing agent Ashley Michelle Velez of P.U.R.E Investments, Inc. They aren’t entirely certain they want to stay in Miami at this time. They are alternating between Philadelphia and Miami.

The about 14,000 square foot house, which was constructed in 2016, sits on over two acres. Even the ex-shooter changed his moniker to fit his house.

Waiters “calls it Waiters Island, because it’s his own private getaway,” Velez said. You don’t feel like anyone is nearby on that land. For someone who wishes to be alone, that is a large amount of land. He adores the house and says he feels like he has his own resort there.

The house has nine bedrooms and eleven complete bathrooms inside. There are numerous opulent main bedrooms from which the prospective owner might choose.

It doesn’t simply have one [main] bedroom because it has three primary suites, according to Velez. “The wardrobes are ϲrazy. The kitchen is exquisite. It’s a gorgeous, gorgeous property, I meɑn. You don’t get that very often, but the master bedroom is one of the greatest things in the house.

On the lower level, there is an additional principal suite, and on the second story, on the other side of the house, there is a third suite.

“That’s where they have their guests and their moms stay,” reveals Velez. It features a great-sized closet and a second, enormous bathroom. One of the bedrooms has been used as a home theater by Waiters, although Velez claims it could be easily transformed back into a bedroom.

She adds, “The kids’ rooms are also amazing, and their closets are also very big.”

For extended family, there are two additional bedrooms and baths nearby with a separate entrance.

Velez maintains that “the kitchen is just amazing.” You have so much space with all the islands, I tell you. When you enter, you think, “Wow.”

The house has a stunning entrance thanks to the series of reflecting pools in front of it. A large amount of seating, an outdoor kitchen, a teppanyaki grill, and barbeque surround the swimming pool area in the backyard. There is still room for more.

“There are two areas of the yard where you could definitely add a tennis court or a full basketball court, which is something that a lot of people in Miami want to do—they just don’t have the land for it,” Velez notes.

She claims that so far, a few football players, a basketball player, and various wealthy people have all toured the house.

“I deal with a lot of athletes and entertainers, so I know that caliber of clientele,” adds Velez. “I’ve sold homes for much more and much less than this. I thought the house was lovely when I first saw it. It is a really big house, and entering it is absolutely breathtaking.
