Only a handful of athletes around the world boast a bigger net worth than the Big 3 of NBA.
The Paris Olympics has kicked off, and it will run from July 26th to August 11th. The world’s finest athletes will compete to represent their country and win the gold medal. USA Basketball has sent some of their finest athletes to play in the Olympics and compete for the gold.
While there are no cash prizes in the Olympics, athletes will compete for the medals and the glory to make their country proud. Still, many athletes earn great wealth through their salary and endorsement deals which helps them grow their net worth. Sportico recently released a list featuring the top 20 highest-paid athletes for the Paris Olympics.
At the top of the list stands Spain’s golfer Jon Rahm with earnings of $210 and sits at the top with a very big margin. Below him in the top 5 comes the big 3 of LeBron James, Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant with each having earnings more than $80 million. James stands at the number 2 spot with earnings of $127.7 million, Curry took the number 3 spot with earnings of $101.9 million and Durant is at the number 4 spot with earnings of $89.7 million.
Out of the 20 players, the list features 13 players that are NBA stars. Team USA has a mix of young NBA stars and old veterans like LeBron James, Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry who will be leading the charge for the team. They are heavy favorites to win the tournament and already have a flawless record of 5-0 in the the warmup games.

In 1992 USA basketball for the first time decided to let the NBA players play in the Olympics. In the process, they formed the 1992 “Dream Team” which is still considered by many as the best basketball team ever assembled. The Dream Team even featured a big three of NBA legends Michael Jordan, Larry Bird and Magic Johnson.
The current USA basketball has again managed to form one of the strongest teams ever made in basketball. It also features the big three of the modern era of basketball LeBron James, Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant. NBA fans are excited to see the three long-time rivals finally team up for the first time. Many fans even stated on social media that they want to see the modern Big Three recreate the old photo of the Big Three of Jordan, Bird and Johnson.
It will be a delight for all the NBA fans to see the modern rivals play for the country. James, Durant and Curry are on the final leg of their career and it will also be a great farewell tour for the fans.
