Blake Lively has revealed the wild theme of her son Olin’s first birthday cake, ‘which I feel like will haunt him for life,’ she joked.

The 36-year-old actress has been facing down a string of controversies as she rolls out her new hit romantic drama It Ends With Us.

Stories of a behind-the-scenes feud have surfaced, and her media appearances have brought a deluge of criticism down on her head.

Shrugging off the drama, Blake gave yet another interview this week and told a family story that was certain to raise some eyebrows.

She spilled a saucy detail from the birthday celebration that she and her movie star husband Ryan Reynolds threw Olin, on BBC Radio 2.

‘My birthday cakes always have a little bit of a sense of humor. For my baby I just did a giant set of t**s, which I feel like will haunt him for life,’ she said drily.

‘But what do they want at one?’ the mother of four argued. ‘Like, he’s not – he can’t declare what he wants, so boobs!’ 

She promised host Zoe Ball: ‘I’ll show you a picture after. They’re pretty amazing. Of the cake, not of mine! Also amazing, though.’

Ryan and Blake have been married since 2012 and now share four children – daughters James, nine, Inez, and Betty, four, and son Olin, one. 

They announced their new baby’s arrival in February 2023, but waited until last month to announce that they had chosen the name Olin. 

The Hollywood couple were mocked on social media for the ‘weird’ selection – a Nordic name that refers to the heir to an ancestor. 

Blake has been plagued with scandals as she promotes her new movie It Ends With Us, which has emerged as a box office smash.

Based on a 2016 romance novel by Colleen Hoover, the motion picture stars Blake as a florist called Lily Blossom Bloom, whose marriage to a man called Ryle Kincaid (Justin Baldoni) goes from passionate to abusive.

Her life becomes even more complicated when her old flame Atlas (Brandon Sklenar) arrives on the scene, reigniting her dormant feelings for him.

Blake’s publicity appearances in support of the film have caused an online furor, with social media commentators branding her a ‘tone deaf’ ‘diva.’

She was blasted for a giggly, ‘shallow’ interview she conducted with her co-stars, in which they neglected to discuss the topic of abuse. 

‘This movie is about domestic violence, why are you promoting it like it’s a Barbie movie?’ read a characteristic online jibe. 

Blake was also denounced for giving a sardonic reply when an interviewer asked if fans with experience of abuse could approach her to talk about the subject.

In response, Blake sarcastically said the fans could ‘ask for my address or my phone number,’ or that she could ‘share my location’ with them.

She was raked over the coals online for reacting to the question with a joke, rather than giving a serious answer about seeking professional help or availing oneself of the various resources for domestic violence victims.

In addition to starring in the movie, Blake is also one of the producers – and is reported to have feuded with Justin, her co-star and director.

Rumors of a rift began swirling after the movie’s New York premiere, where Blake and Justin did not pose for pictures together despite being the two main leads.

Pouring fuel on the fire, Blake has refrained from doing media appearances with Justin to plug the film, despite giving interviews with other co-stars.

An insider informed DailyMail.com that Blake and Justin clashed over their creative differences on how to handle the domestic violence issue.

The source said Justin focused on ‘what he believed was the abusive male viewpoint’ and adopted a ‘chauvinistic’ stance to the subject matter, while neglecting to ‘consider Blake’s character’s perspective’ on the scenes.

‘Justin almost became the character in the sense that some women on set felt he was borderline abusive to them and that he was unprofessional and unapologetic. Directing a film so serious and so important about domestic abuse without allowing the women to be included in this process is disturbing.’

However other sources felt Justin got ‘screwed’ artistically and was ‘generally a nice guy to work with and cared a lot about the production,’ they told TMZ.

It was then claimed Justin and Blake fell out because she felt ‘fat-shamed’ when she heard how he prepared for a scene where he had to pick her up.

Justin has suffered from back problems and allegedly asked his on-set trainer how much Blake weighs so that he could train for the scene accordingly and lift her from the ground without hurting himself.

She was also alleged to have felt disquiet when she filmed a romantic scene with Justin and thought he dragged on their kiss too long.

As the rumors about Justin mounted, he hired crisis PR Melissa Nathan, who worked with Johnny Depp during his legal battle with Amber Heard.
