Bronny James is officially named a five-star college recruit less than 24 hours after Lakers superstar LeBron claimed his son is ‘definitely better than’ some NBA players

Bronny James has officially been listed as a five-star recruit and the ninth best player in the 2023 recruiting class according to On3’s basketball recruit rankings

On3’s rankings system also lists Bronny as the No. 2-ranked combo guard in the class as well.

247 Sports, ESPN, and Rivals all still have him listed as a four-star prospect and the 8th best guard in the class.

The upgrade to his ranking comes less than 24 hours after his father LeBron James tweeted out that he felt Bronny was ‘definitely better than some of these cats I’ve been watching on league pass today.’

Bronny James was officially named a five-start recruit in the recruiting class of 2023

The update to his ranking came less than 24 hours after Lebron James tweeted that Bronny was already better than some players currently in the NBA

Bronny James was showered in praise by his famous father, LeBron, on Twitter Monday night

Bronny and his Sierra Canyon High School team are set to compete in their regional final on Tuesday night against Sherman Oaks Notre Dame High School.

‘Even with the brightest of spotlights on him, Bronny continues to grow in his game,’ ON3’s Jamie Shaw said of Bronny’s 18-spot jump. ‘He entered Sierra Canyon as a freshman and arguably as the most famous high schooler in sports.

‘This fame has followed him, and even continued to grow. But so has Bronny’s game.’

Bronny is yet to announce where he will play his basketball after graduating from high school but most consider Ohio State to be the favorite to sign him for the 2023 college basketball season.

According to The Oregonian, James has lowered his options to a ‘top five or six,’ which includes the Buckeyes, plus Oregon and USC.

He was seen visiting Ohio State during their season opening football game vs Notre Dame, before posting pictures of himself in an Ohio State uniform shortly after.

Bronny was also recently named to the McDonalds All-American game and the USA basketball Nike Summit roster.

While he still has two years to go before he could potentially make his NBA debut, there is a strong chance Bronny could suit up with his father in a league game seeing as LeBron has spoken multiple times about wanting to team up with his son.
