Besides being the star of the Marvel series X-men and a host of other popular movies such as Real Steel and The Greatest Showman, the burly Australian actor is also an avid collector of cars.
His shredded figure, variety of movie roles, and genuine kindness have all played a part in the success of Hugh Jackman as an actor. While we all love seeing him on the silver screens of Hollywood, what is just as fascinating but less often discussed is his collection of cars. This is not to diminish the acting skills of Hugh Jackman, nor is it to locate Hollywood beyond the realm of the automotive community, rather it is just an exposition of his interesting car collection, as an addition to his well-publicized and beloved personality as one of the leading actors of our time.
However, it must be added that there is very little information available regarding the specifics of his cars, so images and detailed information will be based on existing photos of Hugh Jackman next to his cars, using the periods of different facelifts for each car to ballpark its year and thus its specs.
But enough of the niceties, you are here to look at his car collection, so let’s get down to it: here are the gorgeous cars that grace the infamous Wolverine’s car collection.
Audi R8 V10 Spyder
In 2013, Hugh Jackman drove up to the London premiere of The Wolverine in an Audi R8 V10 Spyder, flashing the very same car that his character is driven in during one of the scenes of the movie.
Apart from the sexy and sleek exterior of, what can be assumed to be, a 2013 Audi R8, the real interest lies in its muscular, powerful core, much like that of Mr. Jackman himself. Powered by a low-mounted Lamborghini sourced 5.2-Liter V10, the R8 produces 525 HP and 391 lb-ft of torque, sharing the power between all four wheels to propel the car from 0 to 60 MPH in just 3.7 seconds. Featuring a 7-speed S-Tronic dual-clutch automatic transmission, shifting times and fuel consumption have both been reduced marginally, improving the performance capabilities of the R8 even further.
Additionally, in terms of aesthetic differences, the front fascia was tweaked in the 2013 model, with the main one-piece front grille receiving beveled top edges and the sides grilles being tweaked to match the front grille. LED lights have also been included, advancing the technology right besides performance. Double-wishbone suspension helps the R8 adapt to a variety of driving conditions, allowing for driving both on and off the track.
Audi Q7
Changing gears a little, an Audi Q7 also graces Hugh Jackman’s car collection, maintaining the Audi brand loyalty, albeit in a completely different form to his R8.
While his R8 boasts unrivaled performance, his Q7 emphasizes elegance over performance, but without sacrificing performance fully. This three-row SUV features leather, wood and suede interior, an elegant infotainment system, and a wide panoramic sunroof. The rear and middle seats fold down to maximize cargo space, without impeding on the legroom of the front seats.
Mechanically, there are three engines to choose from, two supercharged V6s and a turbocharged diesel V6, making 280 HP, 333 HP, and 240 HP respectively. The normal supercharged V6 does 0-60 MPH in 7.7 seconds, with the S-line supercharged V6 drops this number to 6.9 seconds, which is truly impressive for a full-size SUV. However, the diesel model has significant advantages in fuel economy with 19 MPG in the city and 28 MPG on the highway, compared with the 16 MPG in the city and 22 MPG on the highway for the petrol models. Apparently, there is no difference in fuel consumption between the base supercharged V6 and the S-line supercharged V6.
Volkswagen Jetta
Hugh Jackman continues to show his love for German cars through his possession of a Volkswagen Jetta.
Admittedly, there is even less information about his Jetta than there is about his other cars, but from the photos and hints available, his Jetta appears to be pre-2011, when the Jetta underwent a significant facelift. Consequently, his Jetta has one of three engines, a turbocharged 2.0-Liter inline-four, 2.5-Liter inline-five, and 2.0-Liter turbocharged four-cylinder diesel variant, producing 197 HP, 170 HP, and 138 HP respectively, making them relatively powerful cars considering their size. Again the diesel variant had significantly greater fuel efficiency at the cost of lower performance.
Range Rover
In a turn away from his German cars, Hugh Jackman’s ownership of a Ranger Rover once again demonstrates his love of elegance.
While the British car manufacturer is infamous for creating a variety of truly capable off-road vehicles, their recent endeavors in luxury vehicles have made them a staple in the luxury SUV category. The specifics of Hugh Jackman’s Rover remains highly unknown with one source claiming his car to have a 3.0-Liter 335 HP engine and various sources locating him in a black Range Rover without any further information. However, from the side profile of the car, it appears to be a black 2006 Range Rover HSE, similar to the one depicted above, but without any more detail available it is hard to tell which engine it has, the 4.4-Liter 302 HP or the 4.2-Liter supercharged 390 HP variant that came as options for the 2006 Range Rover HSE range.
Regardless of what the specifics of his Range Rover are, one thing is clear, it is truly an elegant car from the inside out, perfectly matching the masculine elegance of Hugh Jackman himself.
