‘How y’all even look at the game is whack as f**k’: Kevin Durant joins Twitter Spaces broadcast criticizing his play and RIPS commentators

Phoenix Suns star Kevin Durant decided to speak his mind when he hopped on a basketball fan’s Twitter Spaces broadcast.

The Spaces, hosted by @LegendofWinning and titled ‘Kevin Durant is not top 5’, went live on Friday night with a few commentators speaking about the superstar’s abilities.

Then, Durant joined in and took the time to speak – with the host saying, ‘Oh here come Kevin Durant, man, Jesus Christ.’

Durant, who has never been one to shy away from engaging in discussions on Twitter, hopped on and began tearing into the fans speaking on the broadcast as they talked about why he should and shouldn’t be in someone’s top-five all-time list.

‘I just think how y’all even look at the game is whack as f—k,’ Durant said in a clip recorded from the session.

KD hopped into a chat titled ‘Kevin Durant is not top 5’ and bashed people’s opinions

‘You factor in team success when you talking about players. I just think how y’all consume the game is trash, like are you good or not?

‘I mean some things could be that simple. Are you just good or not? I mean, a lot of people have seen it for a long time brother and it’s OK.

‘These lists don’t really mean nothing anyway, so why are you getting so upset about ’em?’

One of the speakers in the group said they agreed with Durant’s assessment of how people view the game.

Durant then made the point that people comparing top-five lists is a fruitless attempt.

‘Everybody got different standards for different players,’ Durant said. ‘Everybody got their own lists.

‘Everybody feel their way personally about they favorite players. It is what it is… There’s just too much criteria to keep up with at the end of the day.

‘I think its all fun, we all love the game, we all love debating… but like y’all take it too far sometimes, brother. It ain’t even really that serious.’

Durant also added that people’s top-five all-time lists ‘ain’t even really that serious’

Durant and the Suns fell to the eventual champion Denver Nuggets in the conference semis

Durant’s abilities have never been in question, but his standing amongst the greatest in all of basketball will be for a while.

In terms of individual accolades, Durant won an MVP award with the Thunder before jumping ship to the Golden State Warriors.

While he was likely the best player on that already-stacked Warriors team, some view his move to a super team as a mark against him – even though Durant won two Finals MVPs and two titles.

But since leaving Golden State, Durant has struggled to find that same success – failing to reach the finals with both the Brooklyn Nets and the Phoenix Suns.
