Being a new sports star in Los Angeles comes with plenty of perks, as Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez is finding out.
The new LA Galaxy striker has been a man about town in the leadup to his debut MLS campaign, as he’s already been spotting at an Kings hockey game — where he dropped the ceremonial first puck — and made a guest appearance earlier this week to check out a new mural in Venice Beach that features his image alongside Galaxy legends including David Beckham, Landon Donovan and Robbie Keane.
On Tuesday, Chicharito was in attendance for the Lakers’ game against the New Orleans Pelicans at Staples Center and posted a photo on his Instagram where he’s seen chopping it up with none other than Lakers superstar LeBron James. In the caption, the Mexican national team legend called the meeting a dream come true.
That’s a power duo if there ever was one. With Chicharito instantly becoming one of the biggest draws in MLS upon joining the Galaxy this offseason, we might just see the King himself at Dignity Health Sports Park this year, although previous evidence suggests James has pledged allegiance to crosstown rival LAFC (no word on if that will cause any issues with this potential LA bromance).
