Kevin Durant parties at rapper Drake’s Toronto mansion on Canada Day

Kevin Durant once appeared in Drake’s music video ‘Laugh Now Cry Later’.

The first time Kevin Durant and Drake went viral was during the 2019 NBA finals, where the rapper talked trash to the then-Warriors star. As his home team the Toronto Raptors were the competitors, Drake decided to taunt Durant. However, that was a one-time exchange as the duo have been friends ever since. Recently, Durant was even seen celebrating ‘Canada Day’ at Drake’s mansion.

As Drake is currently in a rap battle, the rapper seems to have lost connections in the NBA. His many friends including LeBron James were spotted at his rival Kendrick Lamar‘s concert. However, that is not the case for Kevin Durant. The forward was seen enjoying a drink, dancing, and watching some fireworks at his house in Toronto.

Durant seemed at ease as he was vibing to music while appeared to be playing some football. The reason behind Durant’s relaxed demeanor could be his long-time friendship with Drake. The duo has been spotted together multiple times as they also have a professional relationship. Durant once appeared in the rapper’s music video as he was even the executive producer on Drake’s album ‘For All the Dogs – Scary Hours Edition’.

Durant is certainly close with Drake as the forward has made only a few public appearances in the offseason. But the star made an effort and flew all the way to Canada to meet the rapper. The videos went viral on social media in no time as fans were delighted to see the pair link up.

Kevin Durant has been vocal about his support for Drake in the beef

Other than Durant, Drake had a close bond with LeBron James as he even made a song about the Lakers forward. However, Lamar dropped a diss track about Drake where he told James to stay away from the rapper. James seems to have followed Lamar as he was spotted dancing to Lamar’s diss track and even attending his concert. But unlike James, Durant has not switched sides.

The two-time champion made his support to Drake clear back in March. As Lamar dropped the track ‘Like That’ about Drake, the Canadian rapper made an Instagram post. The 37-year-old threw shade at Lamar by posting a day after the track was released and captioning it “They rather go to war with me than admit they are their own worst enemy.” Many showed support for Drake in the comment section including Durant. “Real sh*t,” Kevin Durant wrote.Durant even stated that he is ‘there for him‘ to Drake during the press conference of the last All-Star weekend. The Suns’ forward who himself is a rapper, is collaborative with Drake. With basketball, the duo shares commonalities with music as well.
