A rub of the head by Marco Verratti and a smile from goalkeeper Alphonse Areola also played a role in ensuring his spirits were lifted.

The young fan soon steadies himself for the occasion before taking Silva’s hand and wearing a wide grin as they emerge from the tunnel at the Parc des Princes.

In the end there were to be plenty in PSG colours with reason to smile and celebrate as the Ligue 1 champions booked their spot in the French Cup final after a 3-0 win.

Goals from Verratti, Mbappe and Dani Alves – who produced a sensational lob in stoppage time – were enough to down Nantes on Wednesday night.

Thomas Tuchel’s side will take on Rennes after they got the better of Lyon in a five-goal thriller.

Their title defence of Ligue 1 looks secure given they lead nearest challengers Lyon by 20 points, having played one game less.
