‘You know we put a lot of hard work and dedication in the last year, and it’s always to know the saying that hard work pays off,’ James said after the emotional display

James addressed the sellout crowd, telling the fans ‘this is for you’.

‘On behalf of my teammates and I, this is for you guys. This is all for you.

‘You know we put a lot of hard work and dedication in the last year, and it’s always to know the saying that hard work pays off.

‘This is a true testament of it. And without you 20,000-plus fans this would not be possible, so this night, none of us will ever forget. None of us.

‘Anybody in this building, anybody in this community. Anybody in this state, anybody that got any ties to Cleveland and northeast Ohio – you know, from this building to our guys next door opening the World Series, at this point, if you’re not from here, live here, play here – dedicate yourself to Cleveland and it makes no sense for you to leave at this point.

‘Cleveland against the world,’ James said.

While the ring is the first for the Cavs, it’s the third for James .

The star forward won two rings with the Miami Heat in 2012 and 2013 before returning to Cleveland in 2015.

Earlier in the night, James led his team to another victory over the New York Knicks in a crushing 117-88 win.

He also wished the Indians good luck as they try to win their first World Series since 1948.

James sent each member of the Indians wireless headphones ahead of Game 1 of the World Series against the Chicago Cubs.

The Indians repaid James by having shortstop Francisco Lindor sign a jersey and send it back to the Cavaliers.

The Indians are trying to put an end to Cleveland’s championship drought, which is at a daunting 128 days since James and the Cavs beat Golden State in Game 7 of the NBA Finals.

With a 6-0 win against the Cubs on Tuesday night, they might be on their way to doing just that.
