Kevin Durant, LeBron James and Stephen Curry
Team USA won the gold medal at the Paris Olympics by defeating France in the finals. The trio of Stephen Curry, LeBron James, and Kevin Durant received much praise for the way they performed. The trio dominated the NBA in the 2010s. While their teammates were also acknowledged for playing a part in the victory, fans have singled out the aforementioned players for making standout performances.
As of late, a former NBA player has echoed basketball fans’ sentiment on the trio’s pivotal role. While speaking on the Gilbert Arenas Show, ex-Milwaukee Bucks star Brandon Jennings talked about having KD, James, and Curry on the same team. Jennings may have praised them a bit much, calling them the greatest era of hoop.

To have KD and LeBron and Steph on the same team, I mean you guys are watching the greatest era of hoop ever. You know, what they’ve done for the game has been tremendous. So, you know, shout out to them for ending it the right way.

With the USA concluding their run at the 2024 Olympic Games with a fifth consecutive gold medal, there’s no doubt about the impact of Curry, Durant, and James playing side by side. Jennings is just the latest NBA veteran to sing praises of the three stars. A team of this quality might never be assembled again.
Kevin Durant hails LeBron James as a ‘standard’ for basketball
Ahead of the Paris Olympics, Durant sat down to talk about his USA teammate James. The 35-year-old was set to represent his nation on the world stage for a fourth time. This was his third time teaming up alongside Los Angeles Lakers star who was also on the roster.
In that interview, KD shared his thoughts on the longevity of James in the league and how consistent the 39-year-old has been throughout the years. Durant spoke highly of James for playing at such an elite level after crossing the mid-thirties.
When you’re 39 and in your 20th year… And then you played against like 40% of the players that ever played in the league. It’s just like that longevity has to mean something, that has to be a standard… And it goes back to that GOAT thing right, like how many people can relate to LeBron James on Earth.

As stated by the Phoenix Suns star, he can’t think of that many basketball players who have had such continuity over the years in the league. LeBron James is widely regarded by many as one of the greatest of all time to play the game. Both stars will now rest up for the time being before reporting back to camp to prepare for next season.
