“Not somebody that’s 40” – Kevin Hart hilariously roasts LeBron James in duo’s new DraftKings commercial

DraftKings recently released an ad featuring LA Lakers superstar LeBron James and comedian Kevin Hart ahead of the start of the 2024 NFL season. Hart comically roasted James in the commercial, making fun of his age.

In the video below, James and Hart are hanging out after the former received an “NFL offer” from DraftKings. The comedian thought that it was an offer from an NFL team and proceeded to hilariously troll the four-time NBA champion.

“Aren’t you too old to be playing football? They want somebody that can run a 40, not somebody that’s 40. When the coach calls your number, you’re gonna say ‘G56 Bingo!’ How are you gonna celebrate a win? Give everyone butterscotch candy? Probably out your pocket with no wrappers, just gonna give them raw candy. That’s nasty, by the way,” Hart said.

The NFL season is set to start in the first week of September, so fans are surely going to bet on games. LeBron James and Kevin Hart are huge fans of the sport, and are often crazy about their respective teams.

James used to follow the Dallas Cowboys growing up but left the fandom to cheer for the Cleveland Cavaliers. Hart, on the other hand, is a die-hard supporter of the Philadelphia Eagles.

In addition to being a fan of the sport, “The King” had the opportunity to play pro football during the lockout-shortened season in 2011.

He received offers from the Seattle Seahawks and Dallas Cowboys to at least try it, but turned them down since it would take a lot of adjustments on his body to make it possible.

The four-time NBA MVP played football in high school as a wide receiver. Many thought that he could have been successful if he pursued an NFL career where he would be a monstrous wide receiver or tight end.

There were rumors last February that the Golden State Warriors were in pursuit of a potential trade for LeBron James. The Warriors were reportedly looking to add the four-time MVP and pair him with Steph Curry. However, the LA Lakers shut down those rumors ahead of the deadline.

According to NBA insider Marc Stein, there was a dialog between the two teams involving Lakers owner Jeanie Buss and Warriors owner Joe Lacob. James’ agent and Klutch Sports CEO Rich Paul reportedly opposed the idea because of what it could do to his client’s reputation.

Paul was not a fan of James playing for a fourth team in his career, which could potentially get a lot of backlash. Nevertheless, the pairing of James and Curry for Team USA was fun to watch in the Olympics.
