Team USA star Stephen Curry has been garnering a lot of attention lately for his viral “Nuit Nuit” phrase after his win against France.
Team USA and their star Stephen Curry had an eventful Olympic campaign in Paris, winning the Gold medal by defeating Team France in the finals. However, Curry stole the show with his top-notch performance and also did his famous “Night-Night” celebration against them after scoring a three-pointer. Interestingly, during the victory celebrations, Curry took a jibe toward the French as he wore a Nuit Nuit jumpsuit.
Curry has now filed trademark applications in Europe and the United States for “nuit nuit,” which translates to “night night” in French. Trademark attorney Josh Gerben, the owner of Gerben IP, revealed the news and provided additional context. In addition, this news comes after Fanatics released a shirt with Curry’s picture and the words “NUIT NUIT” appearing under it.
Meanwhile, the designer of this particular jumpsuit, Mike Fogg, also provided insight regarding this situation. Fogg claimed that this was a one-off design and was not meant to be for sale purposes. However, with Fanatics being Team USA’s official licensed partners, they started selling merch on the “Nuit Nuit” phrase, which was opposed by Curry.

It’s perfectly reasonable that Curry would file trademarks on the phrase. But for the time being, Curry can enjoy the memorable occasion as he prepares for his 16th professional season.
Nuit Nuit jumpsuit creator Mike Fogg ‘thanks’ Stephen Curry for wearing his custom merchandise
Rachel Nichols shared a video of Team USA celebrating after winning the gold medal. Stephen Curry wore a jumpsuit that said ‘Nuit Nuit’, an abbreviation Curry usually employs when he makes his famous signal to the crowd to end a game. Notably, the creator of this jumpsuit, Mike Fogg, thanked and praised Curry on social media for wearing his custom merchandise in Paris.
I’m deeply proud of the work and time that went into this concept, but to see Steph wear my designs alongside his Gold Medal genuinely overwhelms me with emotion. I have zero words to capture how surreal this is, and I find myself being full of gratitude. It’s a moment I never imagined possible and I could not be more thankful to Steph.
