The halftime showcase during Tuesday’s clash between the Phoenix Suns and Sacramento Kings took a hilarious turn when a puppy peed near on the court at Footprint Center.
Phoenix brought five puppies to race from one free throw line to the other to keep fans entertained during the intermission.
The four-legged competitors appeared confused at first as they loitered around the starting area. Meanwhile, Suns cheerleaders tried their best to lure them to the finish line with toys.
It took a little over a minute for a winner to be declared. And while the rest of them tried to figure out their surroundings, one puppy urinated right by the ‘PHX’ logo on the hardwood.
With the Suns making the puppy race an annual affair since 2020, such mishaps have taken place in previous events. In February of last year, a racer relieved itself on the court before the Suns suffered a 116-107 loss to the LA Clippers.

The clip from Tuesday went viral with frustrated fans comparing the puppy ‘p***ing on the court’ to the Suns, who were down 65-54 at halftime.
Phoenix’s struggles continued into the third quarter as they found themselves trailing 84-103 going into the final frame.
They started climbing back late in the fourth and tied the game at 115 with 43.7 seconds left. The game found another deadlock at 117 with 1.6 seconds left when Kevin Durant got fouled and drained both free-throw attempts to steal the game by a narrow two-point margin.
Durant finished with 27 points while Grayson Allen led the Suns with 29. Both men also tallied five rebounds to secure the win.
The Suns currently hold a 22-18 record as they hold the eighth seed in the Western Conference.
They will look to extend a three-game win streak when they face the New Orleans Pelicans on Friday.
